This is your Flin Flon Bombers Week Preview Powered by Elite Communications.
After a 13-day layoff, the Bombers return to action this weekend against the La Ronge Ice Wolves beginning on Saturday night in La Ronge. The two teams faced off prior to Christmas break with the Bombers getting the upper hand in both games with 3-1 and 7-5 wins. The Bombers currently sit in 2nd place in the overall standings with a 19-9-2-0 record while the Ice Wolves are in 9th place with a 14-17-1-0 record.
Flin Flon leads the season series lead 3-1 but all four games have been very competitive. Prior to the two games right before the break, the Bombers and Ice Wolves split a pair of games in September. The Ice Wolves defeated the Bombers in overtime 4-3 and then the Bombers responded the next night with a 5-2 win in La Ronge.
The Ice Wolves were busy on the trade front in December, acquiring defencemen Owen Turner, Luke Scheck and Brendan Quinn-Lagria as well as forwards Ryder Dembo and Brett Boucher. La Ronge moved out forwards William Forsberg, long time Ice Wolve Seth Dragan and defenceman Matthew Kim.
The Bombers will look to continue to stay hot as the team has points in 14 straight games.
