This is your Flin Flon Bomber Week Preview powered by Elite Communications.
This week the Bombers will be on a four game road trip. The first game is this Tuesday, October 10th, 7:00 PM ST vs. the Yorkton Terriers (3-2-1-0) at the Westland Arena in Yorkton. This is the first time the Bombers will play the Terriers this season. Last season, the two teams played each other five times with the Bombers winning four of those games. Yorkton is currently tied for second in the Viterra Division, three points behind Weyburn and tied for fifth overall in the league.
The next matchup for the Bombers will be the following day, Wednesday, October 11th , 8:00 PM ST vs. the Notre Dame Hounds (0-8-0-0) at the Duncan McNeil Arena in Wilcox, SK. The Bombers just finished a weekend series with the Hounds this past week, where the Bombers took both games and out scored the Hounds 16-3. The Bombers shouldn’t take this game lightly, even though The Hounds sit at the bottom of the league and their Division. They have yet to win a game this season, so they will be very eager and hungry to get one in front of a home crowd.
The Bombers will have a one day break before they suit up again on Friday, October 13th vs. the Estevan Bruins (3-3-0-1) at Affinity Place in Estevan. Following last year’s first round seven game series, in which the Bombers won, Estevan will definitely be looking to take some revenge. These two teams have yet to play each other this year but you can bet it’s going to be a competitive game, as it has been the past three years between the Bombers and the Bruins. Estevan in currently tied for second in the Viterra Division and tied for fifth overall in the SJHL.
The last game for the Bombers this week will be against the Weyburn Redwings (4-1-02) on Saturday, October 14th, 7:00 PM ST at The Crescent Point Place in Weyburn. This will be the first time the Bombers are playing the Redwings this season and it will sure be a good one. The Redwings are currently first in the Viterra Division and are one point behind the Bombers in the overall standings. Looking like a totally new team from last year, the Redwings will probably be the toughest match for the Bombers this season, rather then Melfort Mustangs.
